Allarta Life Science is a pre-clinical life science company based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, developing next generation biomaterials for immune-privileged delivery of cells, stem cells and biologics. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our dynamic team.Responsibilities:Provide daily care and husbandry for small and larger animals, according to established protocols and procedures. Assist in the monitoring of animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Assist with the handling and restraint of animals during procedures. Provide assistance with post-mortem tissue sampling or examinations as required. Provide support to team members during procedures. Take notes and maintain detailed records of surgical procedures and follow up care. Manage room bookings and order supplies as necessary. Record, analyze, and interpret data, communicating findings to management and team members on a regular basis.Actively participate in team meetings. Assist with inventory management of animals, including ordering and receiving.Coordinate with laboratory team members in lab to ensure proper inventory and transport of supplies between the laboratory and the animal facility. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to ensure the well-being and care of our animals.Requirements:Certification or experience working as an Animal Care Attendant is preferred.Previous experience in a preclinical research setting, or working with rodents, is an asset. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work well independently, and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with colleagues. Please send letter of interest and resume to hiring@allarta.com Please note we appreciate all applications.
