One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a
5th or a 4th Class Engineer in
Delta, BC region.
SHIFT- Monday to Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm - 8hrs Shift
JOB TYPE- Full-time
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, compressors, and steam-driven engines.
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure proper operation of equipment and adjust controls as needed to maintain proper operating parameters.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating machinery, replacing worn or defective parts, and cleaning equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance to facilitate reporting and ensure accountability.
- Collaborate with other engineering and maintenance personnel to coordinate work activities, share knowledge, and address operational challenges effectively.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations such as equipment failures, leaks, or power outages to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to operations.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid 5th or a 4th class Class Engineer license or certification issued by relevant regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment such as boilers, turbines, and pumps, with a strong understanding of related systems and components.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions effectively, utilizing analytical skills and technical knowledge to identify and implement solutions.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations and procedures, with a focus on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and emergency preparedness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, communicate technical information clearly, and follow instructions accurately.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks, recording data, and following procedures to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
