Our team is growing rapidly along with our brand and we are looking for health and growth-minded people to join us at our HQ in beautiful Victoria, BC as we expand across the globe.About the roleWe are seeking a talented PHP/WordPress Platform Lead to join our team. You will oversee other WordPress developers, ensuring on-time, quality development of new key features each sprint. Your role will include QA to guarantee deployment-ready work. Beyond technical expertise, your leadership will be pivotal, guiding the team, driving task completion, and fostering collaboration across stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:PHP/WordPress Development Management: Lead and manage WordPress development, working closely with our development team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions and perform development work on different areas of our site to understand current code and opportunities for improvement. You collaborate with our Product team and Development Manager on projects and sprint management.Developer Coaching and Leadership: Work with our current development team to optimize work outputs based on their skill sets. Continually evaluate quality of work and offer constructive feedback and coaching to help our developers grow and succeed in their roles.QA and Ticket Management: Conduct quality assurance (QA) and code reviews on features and updates, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications. Communicate with stakeholders on team QA testing results. Evaluate ticket backlog, ensuring timely resolution of issues and follow-up with stakeholders on incomplete or updated tickets and requests. Ensure urgent tickets are quickly assigned or worked on as needed and QA bug fixes and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.Feature Release Coordination: Coordinate with stakeholders on feature release testing and launch timing, ensuring successful feature deployment. Collaborate with teams to clarify feature and update requirements, ensuring alignment with our developers understanding.Qualifications:6+ years experience developing custom WordPress functionality and themes3+ years of leadership experience, managing diverse teams and complex projectsSolid understanding of PHP (both procedural and object-oriented), SQL, HTML/CSSSolid understanding of Linux servers, command line and version managementAbility to handle and accurately adapt mock-ups/designs into responsive, consistent, and accessible WordPress pages and sitesExperience with migrating data from legacy websites to WordPress-compatible formatsSolid understanding of responsive design and experience building fully responsive sitesDebug and optimize existing codebasePerform code reviews with your peersProvide ongoing support and maintenance for existing platformAbility to write clean, secure, reusable codeFamiliarity with SOLID/DRY software development principlesExperience with AWS EC2, S3 is an assetExperience with setting up CI/CD for WordPress-based sites is an assetExperience writing unit tests using such testing frameworks as PHPUnit or similar is a huge assetLocated in Victoria, BC or Remote BC is preferred.  Other locations considered however must be able to work PST business hoursFix urgent production bugs in a timely manner (If the bug happens after hours, the hours can be offset the next day or as needed)Interest or experience in healthcare is an assetOur Amazing Perks & Employee Programs:Personal Fridays: Enjoy every other Friday off!Paid Vacation Time5 Paid Sick Days (if you need them, we have you covered)Extended Health and Dental BenefitsFitness and Wellness AccountYour Own Personalized Supplement PlanProfessional Development AllowanceTeam Events and SocialsAn opportunity to grow and make an impact on an amazing team!The typical salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $85,000 CDN.
