About Our Client Our client is a family-owned SME, solidly established and recognized in its industry. They are currently recruiting a talented Plant Production Manager (60/70 employees in Production - non-union environment) for their plant in Kitchener. Job Description As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the timely development and implementation of process improvement initiatives while assisting with the day-to-day production operations.

You will assist the Production team (60-70 non-union production employees in department and a production leadership tema of 6-8 direct reports) with trouble shooting and optimization initiatives, and provide mentoring to the Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the production department to maximize productivity which achieving our goal of superior quality. Responsibilities will include inspecting products to verify production specifications are being met, train new employees, ensure quality standards are being adhered to as well as maintaining health & safety standards while meeting scheduled requirements.

Mains responsabilities: Utilize various continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) to improve efficiency. Study and document existing processes to create Standard Operating Procedures for Production team utilizing best practices. Implement process improvements through utilization of various methods including root cause analysis, 5S, etc. Work with Leadership team to document and investigate quality control issues to effectively prevent similar incidents in the future. Routinely review operator and process instructions and modify as required while ensuring conformance to actual procedures. Identify opportunities for cost savings and waste reduction while maintaining high standards of quality. Establish and monitor processes, systems, procedures, methods and projects designed to promote manufacturing efficiency. Other duties as required by the business.

The Successful Applicant University degree in operations management, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role in manufacturing operations demonstrating performance improvements. Demonstrated experience implementing a Continuous Improvement culture. Significant experience with CI tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Lean six Sigma, etc. Hands-on approach to problem-solving. Strong planning and organization skills required. Critical/logical thinking and detail-oriented. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Action-oriented and willing to challenge the status quo. Ability to create accountability and to lead by example. Must possess effective time management skills and be able to work with minimal supervision. Hands-on individual who is able to train/mentor the Leadership team. What's on Offer Full-time, Permanent.
