Industrial & manufacturing - Manufacturing / Plant Adecco is currently seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join a prominent Canadian petroleum refining company located in Norman Wells, NT. This role involves supporting the Control Room Technician/Ops Supervisor in overseeing area activities to ensure they are conducted safely and efficiently. As a Plant Operator, you will work within a crew environment to manage activities related to the safe and efficient operation of all plant units and sulfur recovery operations, performing equipment surveillance. If you have previous plant operating experience within the oil and gas industry and proficiency in reading P&IDs, PFDs, and UFDs, we invite you to apply for this opportunity. · Shifts : 14 Days On, 14 Days Off | 12 hours per shift · Job type: Full-time | Contract Here’s why you should apply: · Free access to our Aspire Academy for continuing professional education · Hires fast, pays weekly · Vacation pay paid out on each weekly pay cheque · Medical and dental benefits once qualified · Free training programs Duties and Responsibilities:· Work cooperatively with contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment. · Participate in the Operations Emergency Response activities related to the area. · Provide support and coordination with the Systems Completion team during start-up and commissioning of the facilities. · Review work packages for planned maintenance activities, confirm isolation requirements, and ensure the preparation of equipment provides a safe working environment. · Endorse Work Permits as the Area Operator and as the Isolating Authority when required. · Encourage teamwork between Maintenance and Operations groups. · Support work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and complement the efforts of other work groups. · Ensure the Control Room Technician is informed and consulted about operations and major issues. · Maintain good communication between areas to address issues adequately and complete actions. · Maintain good housekeeping in allocated areas. · Maintain a daily log and shift changeover notes. · Safely perform physical tasks, such as moving drums of chemicals, lifting, and climbing ladders/silos/tanks. · Perform minor maintenance on equipment as needed. · Maintain a high standard of plant housekeeping. · Make process changes to ensure end products meet accepted quality standards. Requirements and Qualifications: · Previous Plant operating experience within the oil & gas industry · In-depth knowledge of production operations/processes. · Proficiency in reading P&IDs, PFDs, and UFDs. · Ability to read shutdown logic diagrams. · Understanding and operation of Emergency Preparedness Procedures. · Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and ability to cultivate the same in others. · Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. · Strong interpersonal and motivational skills. · Ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment. · Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
