Job Description

Our client is a successful manufacturing facility in the Niagara area. Due to steady growth, our client is hiring a Plant Controller for the Niagara location, which boasts production of over $150M CAD annually. This is a hybrid position and offers some flexibility to work 1 day a week from home. Reporting to the Director of Accounting based in the US Head Office, the Plant Controller leads a team of 2 and has full financial responsibility for the Niagara site. In addition to assisting with the month end close, the Plant Controller has full responsibility for setting standard product costs on an annual basis and manages inventory at site. On an ongoing basis, the Plant Controller analyzes and reports variances to the Management Team. The Plant Controller is responsible for budgeting and forecasting and on a monthly basis analyzes and reports any variances of actual to budget. The Plant Controller also ensures there are adequate internal controls in place and will recommend and implement process improvements and policies as required. The Plant Controller works very closely with and supports the Director of Manufacturing who is located at site. To be considered for the role of Plant Controller, you should be a CPA with minimum 8 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting. You must have extensive product costing experience and will be required to demonstrate your standard costing know-how to the Director of Accounting during your interview. Your track record of inventory management and ability to identify, recommend and implement process improvements and internal controls support your candidacy for this position. You should have large ERP experience (SAP or Oracle).
