EDUCATION
ED1. Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

EX1. Recent* experience with IT Service Management best practices and standards.
EX2. Recent* experience delivering solutions under time pressures, changing priorities, deadlines or unpredictable operational urgencies.

STREAM 1 ONLY - Team Leader
EX3. Recent* and significant experience participating within work teams composed of technical staff as managers, colleagues and clients to provide technical advice, guidance and support.
EX4. Recent* and significant** experience in participating in the planning and delivery of IT solutions.
EX5. Experience in analyzing technical complexities and trends or resolving technical issues.
EX6. Experience representing a team in meetings with managers, clients, or technical staff to obtain agreement on requirements for services or the resolution of technical issues.

STREAM 2 ONLY - Technical Advisor
EX7. Recent* and significant** experience in providing technical advice in the development, testing, implementation or maintenance of IT solutions.
EX8. Recent* and significant** experience investigating IT security incidents, implementing corrective actions or providing specialized technical advice to response teams.
EX9. Recent* experience coaching or mentoring junior staff in technical skills or abilities.
