Job Description

We're recruiting for a Bilingual Payroll Supervisor on behalf of our client, a global organization. Start Date: ASAP Location: This is a hybrid/remote role depending on your location. Please note this role requires professional level English and French*** The Payroll Supervisor assists the Payroll Manager with the daily operations to ensure payroll is processed and accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions are completed. In addition, this role plays a part in preliminary month end reconciliations and processing of regular reports. This role acts as an escalation point in resolving time data discrepancies/errors, and ensures all activities are completed in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, and standard regulations. Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to: Manages all aspects of performance. Manages the payroll team including training, coaching / mentoring, and conducting performance management of work assignments, evaluating employee performance, determining related training and orientation requirements, addressing performance issues through intervention or counseling. Maintains high customer service levels from the payroll team by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments and system processes, problem identification and resolution. Receives and responds to payroll inquiries and complaints regarding issues such as interpretations of payroll regulations and collective agreements. Payroll Processing and Administration Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of payroll payments through such tasks as creating and maintaining processing schedules and checklists, reviewing reports to ensure the integrity and completeness of the payroll and benefits information, identifying and correcting discrepancies. Coordinates the processing of special payments for severance, retroactive, performance and merit pay and collective agreement and Human Rights grievance resolution payments. Manages the implementation of the recovery process for overpayments (i.e. recovery period for payroll deduction and release of the payroll authorization form). Advanced experience and knowledge of ERP payroll system. In-depth knowledge of CRA guidelines and payroll legislation. Demonstrated language proficiency (both verbal and written) in English and French.( ASSET) Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation / CPM designation required.
