Department: Health, Wellness and Sciences Campus: Owen Sound Classification: Academic Salary Range: $72.56-$159.79 per hour Posting Date: October 20, 2023 Status: Part-time this posting is for future opportunities Reporting to the Associate Dean, Health, Wellness and Sciences, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Practical Nursing diploma program and/or the Honours Bachelor of Science degree program. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening at Owen Sound Campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: • Delivers courses in the Practical Nursing diploma program and/or the Honours Bachelor of Science degree program • Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives • Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs • Evaluates student progress / achievement • Participates in program and college activities as required • Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required • Creates and maintains a positive learning environment We are specifically looking for subject matter experts from the health care sector for the following areas: • Mental Health • Gerontology • Simulation QUALIFICATIONS: • Successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing • Successfully completed a Master’s degree in Nursing or relevant field is preferred • Must possess and maintain current registration, in good standing, as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) • A minimum of five years’ recent experience in a nursing practice setting • Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association in the specialty of practical nursing would be considered an asset. • Experience with acute / health assessment and / or speciality nursing would be considered an asset. • Embraces change and leads with innovation • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • A commitment to life-long learning • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office along with a high level of comfort level with learning new software such as student learning management systems and various teaching delivery applications. • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students. • Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising and student success strategies. • Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
