This is a part-time temporary Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 3, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024.
A part-time Professor at Fanshawe College is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. The Faculty of Creative Industries is looking for a qualified Part-time Professor to teach courses in the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program.
Qualifications
GENERAL
QUALIFICATIONS
Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are asset
SPECIFIC
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a graduate degree in Design (Master of Interior Design, Master of Fine Arts – Interior Design, Master of Architecture, Master of Design Technology, Master of Design) with at least one degree in Interior Design and
NCIDQ
certification or, at least, have initiated certification
Candidates with a doctoral degree and/or
LEED
and/or
WELL
certification, college or university level teaching experience, and membership in professional organizations such as
ARIDO ,
IDEC ,
IDC ,
ASID
or
IIDA
are preferred
Minimum 3 years’ recent and relevant experience in the commercial interior design industry
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
Demonstrated currency in industry software and tools
