Job Description

The Opportunity:

Our client serves the western Canadian industrial market, specializing in process equipment, instrumentation and components used in the food & beverage, oil and gas, water and wastewater, irrigation, utilities and chemical handling. They are a stocking distributor for a number of products including pumps, flow meters, sensors, controllers, heat exchangers, homogenizers and a variety of other process equipment.

They make a difference to many of their clients by being a value added reseller of solutions and as real subject matter experts.

We are supporting their growth by aiding in the hiring of an Outside Sales person to develop clients relationships and to close deals, focused on clients with Sanitary Process Equipment requirements. This role focuses on the food and beverage sector in the provision of pumps, valves, mixers, installation services (welding) and other similar products.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working closely with inside sales, applications and management to provide exceptional customer service and ensuring customers needs are met
  • Determine customer needs and provide most cost effective and innovative solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of the customer’s manufacturing process to ensure system configurations are compatible with the relevant processes.
  • Uncovering leads to nurture business relationships
  • Providing inside sales teams with the information to provide accurate, detailed, and professional quotation packages within a specified deadline
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to stay up to date on improvements or changes to products

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • Ideally 5+ years experience with outside sales in the process equipment space.
  • Diploma or degree in marketing or business management an asset
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Computer application knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable with technology specifically with process instrumentation (flow, level, pressure etc)
  • Strong customer focus; professional and pleasant
  • Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Good prioritizing, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
  • English language proficiency, verbal and written
  • Basic mathematical skills
