Job Title: Operations Manager / Production Manager Location: Pickering, Ontario, Canada Job Type and Duration: Direct Hire Pay rate: Open Responsibilities Overseeing all aspects of safety, production, maintenance, and personnel relations. Coordinate and monitor compliance with legal requirements, and manage certifications such as ESR, Clean Industry, FSC, and PEFC. Promote a safety-conscious work environment through the identification and documentation of safe work practices in adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies. Establish safety and production strategies to meet budgeted production goals both quantitatively and qualitatively. Ensure all activities comply with legal, safety, and environmental regulations, in alignment with company policies. Coordinate the production unit's functionality, including production planning, personnel relations, quality improvement, waste reduction, and daily operations. Manage machinery and building maintenance, including the development of corrective, preventive, and predictive action plans, and oversee spare parts inventory. Oversee the operating budget, maintain high communication levels with supervisors, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Required background Bachelors degree, ideally in engineering or related technical field A minimum of 5 years managerial experience Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to fluently speak English. Technical Background – engineering, safety, process experience and similar Preferred background Previous background in mechanical and / or electrical maintenance desired. Strong computer skills, including MS Office products and automated production management systems is preferred. Lean/Six Sigma Experience preferred. Exposure or experience to a finishing environment or paper converting preferred.
