Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.Operations Manager$86,200.00 — $122,100.01 annuallyBC Timber Sales (BCTS) is a unique program of the Ministry of Forests. Working collaboratively with regional and district operations, BCTS plans, develops, and auctions a substantial portion of the province’s annual available timber volume. BCTS operations are guided by three overarching principles, forest sector safety, reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and sustainable forest management. To find out more about our program check out the BCTS website and video.The Operations Manager is responsible for negotiations involving business to business arrangements. As a member of the Business Area management team, the Operations Manager provides overall leadership and management of the forest resource planning, First Nation and partner relations; data stewardship, and environmental and safety certification components of the business.The position leads and is accountable for forestry functions carried out by professional and technical staff. The position leads and/or participates in corporate Working Groups.Qualifications for this role include:• Degree or diploma in resource management, public administration, aboriginal studies or equivalent and five years of related experience.• Experience in program administration including allocating resources, leading and coaching diverse teams, supervising staff and in strategic business planning, procurement and financial management.• Experience developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development.• Experience with resolving problems through negotiation with stakeholders.
