Must be able to frequent travel within the Community and occasional travel throughout the Province, which may include air travel. Must be able to be on standby evenings and weekends on a rotating basis. Qualifications: Essential: Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate in commercial construction or a related field (including Interior Design, Architecture, Facility Management and Engineering). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience coordinating and planning all phases of construction and facility-related projects, including defining project scope, budgeting, scheduling, tendering, and implementation and providing ongoing technical advice. Ability to supervise and lead staff. Experience reviewing construction documentation and interpreting sketches and as-built drawings. Experience providing customer service to a diverse range of client groups, including elected officials, managers, technical and trades staff. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines. Effective verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of clients. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare written correspondence. Knowledge of current Building Codes, legislation, and industry best practice related to Green construction practices. Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain client engagement and ensure effective participation. Experience using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Desired: Design experience, including experience with computer assisted drafting software (AutoCAD). Duties: Reporting to the District Manager or designate, the incumbent is responsible for providing technical advice to senior management, procurement services, property services. The position is responsible for the project management of capital projects and insurance claims. Supervising maintenance staff, along with coordination and scheduling contractors to complete maintenance and specialized maintenance. This may include renovation and reconstruction, technical repair work and efficient and safe installation of equipment with minimum disruption to commercial and residential tenants.
