BUMP Festival & Events Coordinator
Who We Are
BUMP Festival is a community-driven initiative that is transforming the center of
Calgary, Alberta, Canada, into an expansive open-air art gallery. Our programming has
been running since 2017. This year, BUMP Festival will run from August 3 - 18, 2024.
The Job
The Festival and Events coordinator (F&EC) will support the organizing and execution
of events for the BUMP Festival and Arts Symposium. The coordinator will also support
the Festival and Events Manager in related tasks including outreach to local businesses
and organizational networking. The F&EC will report to the Festival and Events
Manager primarily and other managers as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
● With guidance from the Festival & Events Manager, coordinate and provide
on-the-ground support for BUMP Festival and Symposium.
● Acting as a liaison with local business partners and contractors prior to and
during events
● Assist with volunteer orientation and communications to volunteers
● Supervise volunteers at events/activations
● Contribute to BUMP’s overall strategies as a collaborative and supportive team
member
● Assist teammates in the development of Artist Welcome Packages outreach
● Assist with administrative and logistical tasks as needed
● Commit to ongoing education pertaining to truth and reconciliation, equity,
inclusion, anti-racism and anti-oppression. The successful candidate will support
and encourage an inclusive, anti-racist, and equitable workplace.
Experience and Competencies
● Interest in events, entertainment, community engagement, urban planning
● Competency in using Google applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
● Friendly and outgoing presence in the community
● Strong and professional communication
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask for help/support
● Ability to process and interpret feedback into work
● Passionate about integrating arts into the community
● Handles challenges and complexities with a positive attitude
● Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and effectively manage priorities
● Punctuality is required
● Remote work at event sites will be required
○ Experience with sound equipment is not required but considered an asset
○ Experience soliciting and building new business partnerships is not required but
considered an asset
○ A valid driver’s license is considered an asset
BUMP Festival is a community driven initiative that aims to transform Calgary, Alberta
into an expansive open-air art gallery with murals and cultural programming. Each year,
our events comprise public art, educational opportunities, music-related celebrations,
mural tours, and more! BUMP Festival is operated by a small but mighty team of art
enthusiasts and advocates who are always ready to roll up their sleeves to make things

Our Offer
Summer positions are funded by Canada Summer Jobs. Applicants must be 18 - 30
years of age as of May 1st, 2024, to qualify. This role will start at 16 hours per week and
gradually increase to full-time during summer operations. The successful candidate will
be compensated $20/hour with 4% vacation. This is a temporary position from May 20,
2024, to August 30, 2024.
Pre-festival work hours are typically Monday through Friday. During the BUMP Festival,
weekend and evening availability will be required (the schedule will be discussed in
advance).
