Role Summary
Nurse Practitioners (NP) are needed for part-time assignments in our Bedford Clinic.
Nurse Practitioners will provide assessment to our Veteran community. A nurse practitioner is an extended class/advanced practice nurse that supports all aspects of consultations. Nurse Practitioners will perform independently, or as a member of a broader care team.
We are flexible on the amount of days or hours you are able to work.
Critical Accountabilities
Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and facilitates applicable physical examination, for primary care patients, within scope, based on patient location
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic and mental health stability
Assists with the provision of care in accordance with facility, provincial, and federal regulations.
Monitors the effectiveness of interventions over time, as applicable
Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients, based on assigned privileges.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making, by providing appropriate educational guidance.
Qualification & Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply, and may be considered.
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or extended class (EC) Licensure
Current CNOR/CRNFA (if applicable) certification
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Recent CRC (Criminal record Check) via CSI Screening
Eligible for registration with the appropriate Provincial Regulatory College
Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of clinical and non-clinical Field employees and interpret company policies. Strong track record in health teaching
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrated critical thinking skills
Nurse in Charge experience is considered an asset
Able to perform and prioritise multiple functions and tasks, related to clinical care
Commitment to travel from assignment to assignment, (only if contracted to do so).
Provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination as per provincial Covid-19 Immunization and Management Policy. (All hires must have received a full dose series of a COVID19 vaccine approved by Health Canada within 14 days prior to the start date)

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications
Generous hourly rate
