A personal support worker is a professional who works in the health care industry to assist patients with their daily activities. The patients can vary in age, residence, and condition. Professionals working as a PSW can work in patients' homes, retirement homes, hospitals, long-time care institutions, or other various establishments providing extended in-patient care.

Some of the primary duties of this role include (but are not limited to) helping a patient perform their daily care activities, such as bathing, eating, and getting dressed.
