At 620 CKRM “The Voice of Saskatchewan,” we're on the lookout for a versatile News Anchor to join our dynamic team. If you’re a curious, confident communicator who knows how to cut through the spin to get to the REAL story, we want to hear from you. Join us and be the first to inform our listeners about what's happening in their world, both in Regina and across Saskatchewan.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Clearly and accurately read news stories, weather reports, and announcements.
  • Review and edit news scripts for clarity and accuracy.
  • Ensure news is broadcast on time, working within deadlines.
  • Maintain proper pronunciation and clear diction for credibility and listener comprehension.
  • Prioritize news stories based on importance, relevance, and timeliness.
  • Report on breaking news stories across Southern Saskatchewan.
  • Contribute story ideas and suggest content.
  • Anchor news, sports, and agriculture packages as scheduled.
  • Attending press events, condensing and writing locally relevant news stories.
  • Source and write local and regional news stories from established contacts and other sources.
  • Update social media and station websites with relevant content.
  • Monitor social media and emergency services feeds for news sources.
  • Localize trending stories for our audience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with KLZ Newsroom
  • Graduate of a recognized broadcast news or journalism program with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a radio newsroom
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Self-starter that takes direction
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Team player that thrives in a busy, collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with social media and formatting stories for online distribution

Essential Requirements:

  • Curiosity and the ability to ask, "the next question."
  • Flexible schedule
  • Must have a valid driver's license and provide a current driver abstract.

Standard Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
