Job Description

As a Network Administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the company’s IT network, desktops, laptops, servers, and security systems. You will need to be able to diagnose network-related problems, manage Windows Servers (both Domain and Email), our client’s Avaya Phone System, MS Hyper-V, and VMWare support skills. The successful candidate should also have excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Update network applications as required
  2. Maintain daily backups and off-site storage
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software. Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as needed. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
  4. Conduct technology training for new users
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, printer, and software issues reported to the IT Service Desk
  6. Assist in the development of training coursework and materials
  7. Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise
  8. Increase efficiencies, technical ability, and interpersonal skills
  9. Perform routine server monitoring and performance benchmarking
  10. Monitor and remove virus, spyware, and other non-authorized software
  11. Complete special projects as requested

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience as a senior systems administrator in virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V)
  2. Associate’s degree in Computer Technology or related field. Certifications such as MCP, A+ preferred.
  3. The ability to prioritize, be attentive to details, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional client service is required.
  4. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills required.
  5. A sense of urgency and a commitment to timely completion of projects. Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft RDS Virtual Desktops/Hyper-V
  7. Knowledge of VMware Technologies
  8. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server
  9. An understanding of cloud technologies such as Office 365, Azure, AWS
  10. Experience with Aruba/HPE and Cisco Switching
  11. Experience working with on-prem environments
  12. A/D Permissions, file sharing, external integrations
  13. Practical knowledge of Azure and Traditional Active Directory

This is a permanent position with an annual salary of $77,000.00 located in Vaughan, ON (work from home until deemed safe).
