Job Description

Who is a Network Administrator?The Network Administrator will facilitate the integration of new technologies into infrastructure networks while also supporting and improving current Information Technology Services. What will you be doing? Deploy, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot server , software, and networked peripheral devices Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex infrastructure problems for a variety of end users. Recommend and implement corrective solutions Receive and resolve escalation service desk tickets Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems. Support the I.T.S. Team in research and development of new technologies to improve I.T. Services. Evaluate and recommend products for purchase Support development, deployment, and maintenance of various I.T.S projects and services Write technical specifications for I.T. Services. Create and maintain other related documentation Recommend, schedule, and perform system improvements, upgrades, and repairs Liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors Remain technically competent. Keep apprised of changes in the technologies available and directions of future technology development Do you have what it takes? Diploma or Degree in the field of IT Operations with a minimum 4 years server / networking equivalent work experience I.T. Certifications would be an asset 3-4 years of I.T. Operations experience Hands-on troubleshooting experience Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards, including TCP/IP, HTTP, POP3, SMTP, Windows Server 2003 - 2008R2, Windows networking concepts, Microsoft Office applications, corporate and personal anti-virus software Support of switches, firewalls, security, and mobile devices Experience in an Information Technology service management oriented environment such as MOF or ITIL would be an asset Ability to plan, research topics and be creative Ability to multi task, persevere, and adapt High judgment and tact capabilities Knowledge of San, Vlan, and virtualization(HyperV, VMware) technologies Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides Ability to create and maintain documentation Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives Self motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Strong customer-service orientation with organizational and time management skills On-call availability for “emergencies” Sitting for extended periods of time Weekend hours for monthly maintenance updates Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings, server racks Occasional travel to GoodLife clubs or offsite meetings and conferences Diversity and InclusionAt GoodLife Fitness, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment, where all employees and members feel valued, respected and supported.
