How does the role impact the organization?
Reporting to the Head of Wealth, the National Director is responsible for building, managing, and maintaining relationships between our Private Client Group (PCG) and the Raymond James Limited (RJL) Advisor community across the IFS (Independent Financial Services) channel. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader, preferably in a large IIROC broker-dealer company, to work with the Raymond James team in an impressive and growing platform. In addition, you will be responsible for creating a service-first culture by establishing the appropriate systems and processes in place.
As a leading member of the Wealth Management Operating Team (WMOT), you will be responsible for building, managing, and maintaining relationships across our IFS branch network, facilitating change management, and the realization of strategic priorities. By leveraging your experience and approachable nature, you will play a pivotal role in resolving issues through creative solutions.
What will your role be responsible for?
- Establishing, strengthening, and managing strong and collaborative working relationships between the Private Client Group (PCG) and the Raymond James Limited (RJL) Advisor community across the IFS channel.
- Developing and executing against short-term and long-term goals and initiatives to achieve PCG’s strategic vision.
- Championing the establishment and implementation of PCG operating policies in support of strategic imperatives.
- Partnering actively and collaboratively with the WMOT to manage PCG risks and opportunities and participate in setting priorities in the advisor desktop platform.
- Delivering and operationalizing the Advisor Wealth Management Platform and the range of services offered along with creating best practices for client relationship management in collaboration with other PCG departments.
- Contributing to the development and evolution of RJL's digital strategy, Advisor Desktop Platform priorities, and change management practices.
- Ensuring the establishment and implementation of Private Client Group operating policies to achieve strategic objectives.
- Managing a competitive compensation and expense management structure that balances client, advisor, and firm goals.
- Achieving increasing revenue and growth of Raymond James Advisors’ businesses by leveraging corporate office resources.
- Identifying and calibrating opportunities in the field for PCG to act upon (products & services, recruitment, retention, competitor offerings, industry trends, etc.).
- Working closely with corporate office partners (Wealth Solutions, Private Client Solutions, Corporate Communications, Practice Management, etc.) to increase their profiles and contributions to the firm.
- Acting as a primary corporate office resource for sales management across the country to escalate and facilitate issue resolutions, through enlisting the support of Wealth Solutions, Private Client Solutions, and corporate services such as Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, and Compliance as necessary, with the goal of providing industry-leading services to clients and advisors.
- Identifying and building strong working relationships with key external vendors that align with RJL’s goals and future growth.
- Collaborating with Compliance and other key stakeholders on continuing education programs for the Wealth Management Division.
- Liaising with Raymond James management on various matters pertaining to the business, and implementing initiatives by coordinating with staff, legal counsel, and consultants.
- Regularly visiting agency locations to foster positive relationships.
- Representing Raymond James Ltd in industry forums.
- Other duties as assigned.

Licenses/Certifications
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH).
- Successful completion of the Investment Dealer Supervisors Course (IDSC); and completion of the Partners, Directors, and Senior Officers Course (PDO).
- Successful completion of designations like Chartered Financial Analyst designation is a definite asset.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Extensive senior-level experience working in the financial industry, particularly in Wealth Management.
- Previous supervisory or management experience; and experience in a similar role is a definite asset.
