About the jobOur Markham office has an immediate opening for a Municipal Servicing Design Technologist with Project Management experience to join our team to help us maintain our momentum.The primary responsibility of this position is to be responsible for civil engineering design (grading and services) on multiple projects for a range of commercial, multi-residential, institutional, government, and industrial clients. This involves working with our project managers, design engineers, and customers to ensure overall project success from inception to completion.Preference will be given to applicants with practical experience related to any of the following:Experience with water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer design, stormwater management and grading and drainage design projects for multi-unit residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and institutional sites.Experience in Municipal Infrastructure design with an emphasis on Land Development.Key Responsibilities:Undertake civil engineering design and review for a wide range of projects including land development, municipal infrastructure, and water resources management.Prepare municipal engineering designs, including storm and sanitary sewer design and hydraulics, hydraulic grade-line analysis, stormwater management, and lot grading.Preparing and drafting CAD drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD digital file database for each project.Coordinate projects with J+B's multi-disciplinary consultant team.Successfully carrying out design/project assignments as directed by the Engineer.Attending site meetings and liaising with clients/contractors; under the supervision of the Engineer.Performing site investigations and field reviews.Preparing technical reports and specifications.Qualifications & Requirements:Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or relevant degree with a minimum of three (3) years’ of design experience.Working knowledge of relevant with local, provincial, and federal government approval and regulatory requirements.Strong computer proficiency with experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Applications.Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.Strong time management and commitment to deadlines.Possess excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis are required.
