The team are responsible for a range of personal insurance products distributed both directly to customers and through a range of intermediary partners. We work collaboratively across Covéa Insurance and through our external business partners, to deliver an exceptional experience to all our customers. What will you be responsible for in this role? Driving the future of the motor strategy and risk appetite from a motor underwriting perspective - review and make recommendations to evolve this, collaborating with Trading and Distribution and working with the senior leadership teams of Intermediated and Direct motor and other relevant stakeholdersUnderstand and plan for emerging risks in terms of opportunities and threats and appropriate strategyAnalysis of the profitability of the Intermediated and Direct motor portfolios, making decisions to improve performance ensuring the agreed COR is achieved as a minimumManage motor underwriting footprintMake decisions following analysis of potential deals, transfers, opportunities and areas of poorer performance. Make underwriting decisions within the risk appetite statement ensuring all deals deliver on minimum returns.Work effectively with the Technical colleagues across the business e.g. Pricing, Trading, Claims.Set and monitor against the Intermediated and Direct Motor risk appetite within the overall Covea UK risk appetite.What would we like to see in you?The ability to work collaboratively across PLPassionate about people, our business priorities and customersCommunicates openly and effectivelyEmbraces and drives change to positively impact engagementBe able to challenge and be challenged, valuing and respecting the views of othersAbility to guide and develop other on their technical journeyEssential Skills & Capabilities:Self-motivated with the ability to work on initiative and proactively seek solutionsExceptional planning and organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlinesAbility to build rapport, develop and sustain strong relationships with internal and external parties.Good problem-solving skills with a sound and authoritative approach to underwriting.Lead by example, be a role model and motivate others to aspire for great things.Qualifications and Experience:Educated to A-Level or equivalentFCII or ACII QualifiedProven record of getting things done and delivering on commitmentsExperience of being able to develop effective relationships with stakeholders at different levelsA good understanding of the underwriting challenges across the Personal Lines insurance marketWhats on offer? 36.25 working hours per week, along with a range of flexible working options.
