OPosition Details:· Permanent, Full-time· On-Site· Schedule: Monday to Friday· Typical Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.· NOC Code: 90010 – Manufacturing ManagersLocation: Head Office, Cornwall Road, Oakville, ONSummary:As a Module Plant Technical Leader, you are responsible to manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of operations & labor, productivity, quality control, on-time delivery, equipment efficiency, performance improvements and safety measures as established and set for the Module Plant department. Enhancing the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting, and look for opportunities to expand systems.Main objective of the Module Plant Technical Leader is to follow and meet daily product quality, carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with Companys policies and applicable laws. Monitor and report efficiency, delivery, teamwork, performances around labour, set up jobs (change over), monitor (supervisors, lead hands, operator) and on-time delivery of the product and growth from the Module Plant. Maintaining hands-on engagement, day-to day involvement with all teams and must be versatile, dynamic, maintaining positive and professional attitude with all levels of staff.Module Plant Technical Leader will drive effective labour and cross training and sustain standardizing activities (procedures, policies and support) and displaying hands-on leadership and introducing best practises to the environment and responsible for training, coaching (mentor), order planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of all activities with supervisors for on-time-deliveries to our customers.The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:· Key member of day-today production operations responsible for production processes, setting up and developing or configuring, and optimize industrial module(s) processes from inception through production and scaling up (discussing with employee’s performance appraisals; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards).· Organizing the budget of the Company in collaboration with the VP, Digital Operations.o Foresee requirements & prepare an annual budget.Prepare and complete action plans.· Rely on extensive ‘HANDS-ON’ operational management experience and day-to-day monitoring to plan and accomplish goals and managing key performance indicators.Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing company policies and procedures.Responsible for equipment processes and production processes (includes programing and supporting equipment: wave soldering, selective soldering, testers, robots and potting machine) implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.Resolve or deal with problems.Schedule expenditures & analyze variances.Initiating corrective actions.Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements and implement & enforce policies and procedures.develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, analyze and improve process and workflow (space requirements), and equipment layout (implement changes).Manage staff levels, wages, hours INLCUDING CROSS-TRAINING plans for all levels.Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace.Facility:Ensure all building services such as power, lighting, HVAC, water, drainage, waste removal, and janitorial services adequately meet the needs of the organization and are maintained to be stable and reliable.o Establish, implement, and administer an effective program for maintaining building facilities and equipment (weekly or monthly check list).Develop contingency plan or emergency list (prepare plant startup/shutdown);o develop and set in place start up procedure (open/close);o All season condition readiness and willing to work extra or necessary hours.o Responsible for all production/Finish Goods areas, Shipping and YardAdditionally:Contributes to a positive team environment within the MRI.Other responsibilities, functions, duties, and projects as assigned by Management.Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.Work closely with the team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively.Communicate with the safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with health and safety regulations and other governmental regulations.· Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.Requirements / Qualifications: Academic Training:· Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Diploma or Engineering Degree· Designation in Electronics, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering Settings· Canadian GraduateWork Experience:· 10+ years of experience in manufacturing / process design/development settings preferably in automotive, industrial or in the electronics manufacturing industry· 5+ years of experience in a leadership roleSpecific Competencies:· Resourceful, proactive, and excellent multitasking ability.· Organizing / prioritizing workload and taking corrective action to ensure standards are met.· Good mathematical aptitude with competency in using Microsoft Excel and other office products.· Able to interpret technical mechanical and electrical drawings.· Hands on manufacturing knowledge of large assemblies’ metal fabrication processes using electrical, fitting, assembly, CNC equipment and general metalwork tooling is an asset.· Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.· Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills;
