You will be working as a part of our Test Services teamPosition ResponsibilitiesPreventative maintenance of engine dynamometer and test rig support equipment such as natural gas and air compressors, gas equipment, cooling towers, diesel and hydraulic systems, intake and exhaust systemBuilding rigs in shop and commissioning and supporting their operationBuilding and maintaining all aspects of engine test cellsMaintaining preventative maintenance logs and data base, records keepingMaintaining shop supplies, tools, materials related to test rig and engine operationsOperation of fork lift and company truckDemonstrable shop skills in pipe and tube fitting, welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, use of powered workshop tools in a safe and efficient mannerA commitment to safety and excellence in work and organizational habitsAbility to travel to customer sites world wide if so requiredHealth & Safety ResponsibilitiesPromote Westports H&S following all Environmental, H&S policies and procedures and understanding your obligations and responsibilitiesReport unsafe conditions, behaviors, and all accidentsCo-operate with JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) and Safety representativePosition RequirementsGraduation from an accredited trade program such as plumbing or gas fitting5-7 years of relevant prior experienceRed seal certified or in-progress in gas installations or plumbing is preferredExperience in transportation, High Pressure CNG lines or mechanical systems an assetExperience with Hydrogen systems an assetKnowledge of Swagelok, MPI or Cone & Thread tubing systems and assetShop skills using hand and powered tools to assemble pipe and tubing, fabricate, form and weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum an assetAptitude for diagnosing and repairing problems in fluid systemsAbility to work indoors or outdoors in all conditionsAbility to lift up to 50kgsEffective interpersonal SkillsStrong computer skills are required: MS OfficeSalary RangeThis role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including a salary within our hiring range of $66,000 to $72,000.
