Job Description
The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for coordinating all activities on site and supervising all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. The Mechanical Superintendent oversees highly skilled maintenance, installation and renovation work and monitors jobs to ensure quality and compliance within the job standards.
Site Superintendent Job Description:
- Supervise and coordinate daily work activities for multiple job sites
- Assist Project Managers, Coordinators, Field Operations Manager and the Vice President, Operations with daily management activities
- Coordinate work activities with subtrades
- Coordinate work activities with clients
- Oversee, manage, and coordinate Assistant Site Superintendents and Construction Assistants
- Attend site meetings
- Assist with managing and controlling costs for the project related to sub-contractors, suppliers, and manpower
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly manpower
- Complete required safety paperwork daily
- Be fiscally responsible for the finances for the project
- Monitor project schedule and manpower for delays
- Ensure compliance of the installation with the specifications for all trades
- Work with the Foreman/Sub Trades to complete the job on time, budget and to high quality standards
- Be available for, and check up on, crews who are working weekends or after hours by means of phone call, site visits etc.
- Submit request for information to Project Managers when required by the foreman or unclear documentation
- Ensure deficiencies are corrected as soon as possible for all trades
- Develop relationships with our clients for future business
- Ensure sites are safe and owner property/valuables are protected from damage
- Ensure sites are clean and tidy at the end of each shift
- Enforce staff and subtrade compliance with company policies, owner policies, Ontario Health and Safety Act and other legal requirements.
- Assist on site by providing labor to complete task/projects as required
- Assist and push to ensure projects are closed out and fully completed as fast as possible
- Other duties as may be required or assigned
