Job Description

Responsibilities: The coordination and delivery of the specifications and drawings to the client while ensuring accuracy and adhering to the project timeline. Responsible for the overall functionality of the production team.Major Functions:Implement the design concept through the preparation and production of drawings and schematics of mechanical systems for healthcare, hospitality, commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilitiesPrepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept reportCoordinate with other disciplines internally as well as externally with consultants and architects to ensure drawing integrity and completenessPrepare the contract documents including the specificationsConduct site visits during the construction phaseWork with the field review team during the construction phase and ensure code complianceWork with project team and Project Manager to ensure on-time project completionUpdate the schedule regularly as agreed to for the projectEvaluate shop drawing reviewsSupervise and delegate design tasks to CAD TechniciansWork with contractors and responding to technical inquiriesProvide technical and administrative support through all phases of the projectHelp to establish and promote client relationshipsCoordinate with internal production teamsStrive to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clientsAttend site meetings and communicate directly with clients to complete the project from start to finishEscalate resource issues to the appropriate Project ManagerAssist in sourcing new work and maintaining existing client baseQualifications, Experience and Education:Post-secondary educationin Mechanical Engineering Technology or other relevant discipline such as Building Systems.A minimum of 8-10 years relevant working experienceBackground developing construction documents using AutoCAD and/or RevitFamiliar with bid and tendering processFamiliarity with Microsoft Office toolsincluding Excel, Word, Project and PowerPointExperience in multi-disciplined project coordination and managementExperience working with customers and client baseExperience working in a team based environmentExperience in site investigations and construction reviewRequired Skills:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalRequire comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, complemented with a strong knowledge of project management concepts and practicesWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT would be an assetExperience conducting site visits would be an assetProven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverablesAbility to communicate and work well with other departmentsAble to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear mannerAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executivesExcellent time management and project management skillsKnowledge of Canadian/American Engineering standardsHigh level of sound and independent judgment and reasoningStrong leadership skillsAbility to work under pressureAnalytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-orientedTeam and customer service-focusedSelf-motivated, hardworking, flexible#J-18808-Ljbffr
