Are you an experienced Engineering Manager (Mechanical) seeking a new opportunity in the Brantford, Ontario area?
This newly created opportunity will have you working in heavy manufacturing, managing 3-4 direct reports and the maintenance team. Your previous experience managing teams allows you to thrive in an environment where you are responsible for the overall coordination of engineering activities, including preventative maintenance, process and equipment upgrades, developing and adhering to an operational budget and more.
Please note - this position is only eligible for individuals that currently reside within a reasonable commute of Brantford, Ontario. Sponsorship is not available at this time.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- a team of 3-4 direct reports and a total team of up to 22 individuals
- managing the maintenance process, equipment upgrades and installations
- creating and adhering to annual budgets
- the safety of your team members and ensuring the highest standards are met or exceeded
- working in conjunction with Human Resources to maintain appropriate staffing levels
- working in conjunction with the Plant Manager regarding production scheduling
- finding process improvements & cost savings without impacting quality
- continuous improvement activities

What do you bring to the table?
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, with a strong preference for someone with a P. Eng designation
- 10+ years experience in a heavy industry such as Steel, Mining, Oil & Gas, Refinery, etc.
- exceptional organizational skills
- experience with developing and implementing a Total Predictive Maintenance Program
- proficient with either Solidworks or AutoCAD, whichever is your preference
- high energy!
- excellent people management skills allowing you to provide results
- 5-10 years previous experience managing Plant Maintenance and Facilities Management
