Using the latest software and technology to facilitate a collaborative client-specific approach to meet your budget and project specifications.Reinbold fosters an inclusive environment with a focus on employee growth & mentoring, and leads the industry in compensation, benefits and work place flexibility.Primary Objective: Responsible for Leading, coordinating & designing mechanical HVAC and Plumbing systems for various new and renovation projects.Project ManagementMaintain current business and client relationshipsCoordinate and manage Mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity from schematic design through construction. This includes preparation of load calculations, assisting in energy modelling, developing mechanical systems and incorporating them into the Mechanical design.Coordination of mechanical systems and design with other disciplines.Analyze client design proposals and specifications to determine cost effective solutionsLead the project team and provide guidance to clients, technical staff and subconsultants to ensure projects are technically sound and completed successfullyMaintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status and manpower resource utilizationDetermining project design and drafting hours required to complete a project and communicate the resources required to meet the project deadlines/Provide internal quality and cost control during the design and construction processManage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation and other factors necessary for successRepresent our firm by attending design and construction meetings with clients and contractorsPrepare and review specification and concept reportsIdentify and address the need for additional services and fees in a timely fashion.Prepare responses to RFI’s and Site InstructionsIdentify and address the need for additional services and fees so that they can be invoiced in a timely fashionDesignPrepare REVIT and/or AutoCad Drawings from sketches, mark-ups and/or designs done by yourself and others.Lead the detailed design of various sizes of projects and delegate specific tasks or scopes to other team members.Supervise mechanical designers and intermediate mechanical designers.Provide technical guidance to clients and other project sub-consultants.Mentor and supervise Mechanical Designers, Intermediate Mechanical Designers and Intermediate Mechanical Engineers and review their work prior to submitting to Project Managers, Associates and Principals.Have a strong understanding of construction and perform construction site reviews when required.Analyze client design proposals and specifications to determine the most appropriate and cost- effective design solutions.Selection of mechanical equipment working with suppliers and manufacturer’s representatives.Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction drawings.Preparation of either book or drawing mechanical specifications.Peer review of other colleague’s drawings and design.Provide complete, fully reviewed projectsAssist contract administration team with the review of shop drawings, responses to RFIs, design changes and associated costs.Strive to accomplish company goals of high-quality workmanship and project timelines throughthe continual improvement of workflows and design standards.Experience & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years experience as a Professional Engineer: P. Eng. in the jurisdiction in which they are working.Detailed understanding of all building systems including architectural, structural, civil, electrical and fire and how they impact and are impacted by the mechanical systems. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.Strong knowledge of current codes and standards such as the applicable plumbing and building codes.Excellent written skills and understanding of software programs (Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.).Understanding of financials as they apply to projects: Work backlog, Work in progress (WIP), project costs vs budgets.Ability to schedule, mentor and manage project teams of 1 to 3 people on 2 or more concurrent projects depending on size and complexity.Benefits & CompensationsSalary range commensurate with experience.Flex days, vacation days and end of year breakWork from Home HybridHealth Spending, Wellness spending, RRSP & TFSA FundReimbursements of professional dues.#J-18808-Ljbffr
