Job Description

KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat resistant alloys and high nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology.

Summary:

Responsible for developing and maintaining design and manufacturing instructions for Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.

Major Responsibilities (but not limited to)

· Review mechanical designs of fixtures or support structure for product, pressure testing closure equipment

· Pressure component design calculations and registration, facilitate with contract engineer or directly

· Create Bill of Materials, process routings to allow manufacture of foundry components

· Provide support to foundry investigations with corrective action for quality with the assistance of the Foundry Technologists

· Patriciate in customer meetings, representing the interests of Kubota’s engineering.

· Provide 3D modelling when necessary

· Support quoting activities for new work when needed

· Support the goals and objectives for the engineering department to ensure alignment

· Support Kubota Global Identity, with the Brand and Spirit statements of Kubota Materials Canada Corporation

· Other related duties, as required

Education, Experience and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field from an accredited College/University required

· Licensed Professional Engineering Designation

· Sound knowledge of pressure codes, specifically ASME B31.3 and/or the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code

· Training on tools required for analytical and numerical mechanical stress analysis

· Sound knowledge and experience with CAD required. Experience in AutoCAD/Inventor considered an asset

· Experience and knowledge of European Pressure Equipment Directive regulations in regard to design review

· Understanding of mechanical design; training on code requirements for pressure boundary systems as governed by codes and jurisdictional regulations

· Knowledge of metallurgy, foundry processes; NDE techniques such as radiography and liquid penetrant testing; welding and/or machining would be considered an asset

· Strong communications skills, experience with communicating with: customer engineers, Authorized Inspectors (TSSA, ABSA, European NoBo)

· Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

· Exposure to manufacturing resource planning software

· Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills, both written and verbal

· Effective time management and organizational skills
