If you know of someone who may be interested in this position, please email the job description. •Five (5+) years of experience of engineering design in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of mechanical parts, strength of materials and their mechanical propertiesPost-secondary education in mechanical design, mechatronics or mechanical engineering or related field is required (college diploma/certificate and/or a university degree)Must be proficient in SolidWorks or comparable 3D design platform(s)Experience and understanding of PDM is preferredMust possess solid written and verbal communication skillsMust be able and willing to work in a team environmentPreference given to candidates with Faro-Arm experienceRequires travel to customer sites (domestic and international) up to 25% of work time. Must be able to travel on short notice.Duties / Responsibilities2D and 3D design, and solid modeling to generate mechanical layouts, sketches, models, and drawings with minimal directionMeet with Customers, Sales, Project Managers, other designers, or engineers to understand the needs and requirements for a specific projectResearch, design, evaluate, maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principlesSpecify system components, prepare bills of material (BOM’s) or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specificationsAbility to check completed layouts, drawings, for proper fit and function, ECNs and BOMs for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications and accuracy of calculations, dimension, and tolerancesLocation Waterloo, ON Pay Range Up to 85K, benefits, profit sharing, RRSP
