Northland Properties' Construction & Design Team is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support our expanding Hotel, Restaurant and Resorts brands. Proud to be 100% Canadian-owned, Northland

A s our Mechanical Technologist, you'll be an integral part of our Development and Building Design Departmentand be responsible for completing mechanical design requirements for various new and renovation projects for our Hotels, Restaurants and Resorts. Your duties will include the following: Prepare mechanical designs, construction drawings, specifications, and sketches for all project phases, including schematic design layouts and final designs. Develop mechanical packages for development and building permit submissions. Perform and review heating, cooling, and ventilation load calculations (HAP, TAS, Excel, etc.). Create and maintain mechanical equipment schedule and motorlist. Review and prepare mechanical specifications and equipment selections, following the firm's selection procedures. Oversee multiple elements of current projects, especially HVAC and plumbing systems for part 3 buildings. Take full responsibility for mechanical delivery on 6-story wood-frame building projects. Review shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and other construction changes. Coordinate or confirm service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies. Communicate and coordinate with multi-faceted project teams, including design and technical consultants. Work with engineers and mechanical technicians at external offices for review redline and drawing coordination with external consultants. Coordinate mechanical requirements and design-related tasks with other project team members and departments. Assist with fee proposal and mechanical budgets. Ensure compliance with current zoning bylaws for municipalities we are working in Adhere to the standards at NPC Building. Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties. What are we looking for? + 3 years of relevant experience in building systems as a Mechanical Technologist Additional experience with Hotel and Restaurant construction projects is an asset. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalent) Great understanding of plumbing and HVAC layouts Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD software Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and the Plumbing Code Good working knowledge of MS Office The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with senior staff in the development of drawing packages Strong verbal and written communication skills A "can do" attitude with good initiative, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills What do you get?
