We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a cutting-edge business, providing engineering design and support functions, and be responsible for small & large-scale projects. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:Managing design projects from initial concept/enquiry through detailed design to manufacturing handover.Providing design input on projects and generate ideas for developments and new products.Small projects, or sub-sections or larger projects, produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.Assisting in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.Offsite engineering support for new products.Assisting in the preparation of quotes and proposals, providing customer support, and training customer operating personnel.Provide technical support to the production, logistics, and integration departments. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have:BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or related/equivalent subject.Suitable design experience.Technical competencies in areas such as structural analysis, mechanisms, hydraulics, assembly methods, inspection, testing, and certification requirements.Experience in ergonomics, tolerancing, limits and fits, and drawing layout and symbols.Desirable competencies include Finite Element AnalysisKnowledge of manufacturing techniques, and material science.Safety consciousness and attentiveness to QHS&E policies and regulations.Technical drawing competence.
