SALARIED POSITION
POSITION TITLE: MCPC Planner II SHIFT :1st
REPORTS TO: Patty Tarter, Assistant Manager
LOCATION: Edmonton
BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
- Order material and maintain inventory while controlling levels of cost. Order and ensure availability of raw materials for manufacturing.Confirm customer requirements and prepare production schedules for manufacturing.
- Utilize “Shortage Report” and other methods to avoid down-time due to parts shortages.
- Generate purchases orders and forecasts (Delivery Schedules) and transmit to vendors as assigned.
- Utilize weekly “Expedite Report” and “Past Due Report” to control open orders as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork as required by QS and TS standards.Negotiate independently with vendors where appropriate.
- Demonstrate understanding of PBCS processes and distinctions between BPCS and Manual orders.
- Prepare mid-range shipping, production and inventory plans including requirements using SMH (as required).
- Review with manufacturing the production status including current and future requirements.
- Create daily production schedules by assembly line and product number.Communicate current issues with related sections in morning meetings.Create and maintain the master schedule for material and production control.
- Calculate on-hand inventory balances and secures countermeasures for shortages.Monitors the progress of the implemented countermeasure in the group meeting each morning.
- Audits in-plant raw material and in-process inventory status and coordinate standardized in-plant inventory levels.Coordinate product design changes and new product launches.
- Make decisions based on experience, judgement and/or discretion in: a) resolving short term capacity problems; b) creating mid-range production and capacity plans: c) preparing daily schedules.
- Responsible for monitoring trial and service orders for assembly lines.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - BS or AA with combination of work experience, 3-5 yrs progressive Production or Material Control Planning.
- Experience with BPCS, Mapics or other main frame planning system.
- Prior manufacturing planning experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to PCMC Assistant Manager.Works closely with purchasing, Production Control, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Engineering.Supports material and manufacturing associates to meet customer requirements.
