Cad Rail Industries Ltd was founded in 1968 headquartered in Montreal. We take pride on being North America’s leader of full-service solutions in the freight, passenger and commuter rail industries in Canada, the United States and offshore. Cad Rail has other facilities in Calgary, Lethbridge (under Caltrax banner) and has recently been selected by the ONxpress Transportation Partners association to provide all legacy fleet maintenance services for the Metrolinx rail fleet of approximately 1000 bi-level coaches and 90 locomotives. Cad rail’s delivery team will operate and maintain Metrolinx’s rail maintenance facilities in Etobicoke and Whitby, as well as in multiple overnight along with mid-day light servicing facilities located across the Metrolinx train service area.Summary of the role:The Material Analyst/Warranty Management will be responsible to evaluate material needs and material costs for maintaining the rail fleet and logistic processes of the business for the Metrolinx’s Legacy Fleet Maintenance operations. In addition, manage the warranty data and all processes related to warranty claims.This individual will collaborate with the management team, customers, suppliers, partners and involved stakeholders.Reporting to the Material Management Supply Chain Manager, will be accountable to support the evaluation of material needs and the costs for supplies, equipment, and services. This will be done by using tracking measures and analyzing the use of materials.Confirm that all HSE policies, processes and procedures are being compliedResponsible for taking care of the material needsEnsure a smooth flow of goods between the Operations distribution chainEnsue that the Company’s inventory and shipping needs are up to date. Further ensure that inventory levels are adequate for the needs of the operationSupport the acquisition of new material and product data relating to the overall annual materials management plansAnalyze the cost of products and services to ensure operating costs stay within budgetAbility to monitor and identify repetitive component failures and share data with the reliability teamAbility to develop KPI’s and present dataPrepare senior management relating any potential complicationsAnalyze warranty data and status, complaint processing and customer/supplier claims. Track and implement corrective actionsLead all warranty related tasksEnsure warranty literature and reference material is current and distributed to the appropriate staff. Train staff on warranty policies and other related areasWork with the team to prepare and create recurrent reports that are requested by operations or higherComply with the company’s applicable policies and procedures as well as human resources’ guidelines.Qualifications:Ability to build strong rapport with the team and unionized maintenance personnel3 to 5 years of analyzing Materials and Warranty principles/administrationExtensive background of accomplishing business strategiesExperience when dealing with headquarters as this individual will be accountable for results and overall performance producedDiploma or degree in Inventory Control or Materials/Supply Chain Management or Warranty Administration or similar field.Nice to have:Experience working in an unionized environmentFamiliarity with other industries such as AerospacePrevious experience working in the passenger/rail transit industry is an assetCad Rail Industries Ltd. welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
