Job Title: Marketing Manager (12-Month Contract)Position Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Manager to manage all marketing activities for our thriving garden centre. The ideal candidate will be passionate about plants, gardening, and outdoor living, with a keen eye for creative marketing strategies. As the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing plans to drive foot traffic, increase sales, and enhance brand awareness. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and hands-on implementation to effectively reach our target audience and achieve business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Develop comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the garden centres products, services, and events.Produce multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, print advertising, and events.Collaborate with our external marketing agency and the sales team to align marketing efforts with sales goals and drive revenue growth.Update and maintain the garden centres online presence, including website content (product listings, event information, and blog posts), social media profiles, and other online listings, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and engaging storytelling.Design compelling and visually appealing marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, signage, and promotional displays, to attract customers and enhance the shopping experience.Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, such as website traffic, social media engagement, and sales data, to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for optimization.Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to adjust marketing strategies accordingly and maintain a competitive edge.Cultivate relationships with local media outlets, community organizations, and industry influencers to maximize publicity and foster positive brand associations.Coordinate special events, workshops, and demonstrations to educate and engage customers while driving traffic to the garden centre.Lead and inspire a small marketing team, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the successful execution of marketing initiatives.Monitor online reviews and respond to customer inquiries and feedback in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive relationships with customers.Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices for marketing initiatives.Administrative duties including scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and managing budgets and expenses.Additional duties as required.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Proven experience in marketing management, preferably in the retail or horticulture industry.Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing (Mailchimp), and content marketing.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and engaging content.Strong understanding of graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and visual aesthetics.Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to track campaign performance and inform decision-making.Leadership abilities to motivate and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and market conditions in a fast-paced retail environment.Knowledge of gardening, tropical houseplants, and outdoor living trends is highly desirable.Schedule:This position is a full-time, contract role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.Occasionally, flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate business needs or projects (ie. occasional weekend or evening work, with advance notice provided whenever possible).Job Type: Full-time, Fixed Term Contract (12-months)Pay: from $25 per hour, based on experiencePlease submit your resume to employment@lakesidegardengallery.com.We appreciate all applications.
