The Marketing & Development Assistant role is a new one which has been introduced to support the work of the Head of Marketing in delivering the school’s marketing strategy and the Director of Development with Alumni relations and development administration. An excellent communicator and experienced social media user, the Marketing & Development Assistant will be happy to assist in a wide variety of tasks and activities to promote the school’s unique ethos.PLEASE NOTE: Our client is happy to consider applicants wishing to apply for the full-time role, but will also consider applications from candidates wishing to work part-time as a job-share, estimated as being 3 days per week for a Marketing Assistant and 2 days per week for a Development Assistant.Specific ResponsibilitiesBelow are examples of some of the duties which will fall to the Marketing & Development Assistant:MarketingWebsite content updates, including writing copy, editing, uploading images and creating feature content blocksAssist in the implementation of SEO recommendationsMaintain the catalogue of key words, hashtags, alt attributes and meta data tags for use across the website and social media to promote SEOProduction, editing and storage of photography and video contentAssist in the layout of publications using the Adobe Creative SuiteProofreadingCreation of newslettersMaintenance of mailing lists and updates to contact detailsAssist in the production of direct mailersDraft social media content working to the school’s social media content planAssisting in the gathering and writing of copy for publications, including interview staff contributorsRegular analysis of competitors, their digital marketing presence and messaging and tacticsDevelopmentMonitoring of the alumni email inbox and triaging repliesAssisting in the organisation and administration for alumni eventsCreation of newslettersAdministrative support to the Director of DevelopmentIt is important to note that as this role is new, the specific duties which fall to the Marketing & Development Assistant may be subject to change, as the school implements and reviews the marketing and development strategies. As a result, the successful applicant will demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and adaptable.Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following:Proven experience in a communications and digital marketing role is essentialPrevious experience in school admissions and marketing and a recognised marketing or social media qualification will be an advantageExcellent writing skills, with a good command of written and spoken English and grammar, and the ability to proofread with an exceptional attention to detailExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to promote the ethos of the school to all enquirers and uphold the school’s brandA detailed understanding of social and digital media, content creation and scheduling tools is desirable as is an interest in continually learning about new marketing and social media trendsExperience of implementing SEO recommendationsA portfolio of marketing communications and digital marketing workThe ability to think creatively and generate new, varied and interesting contentThe ability to identify the audience and tailor communications which will attract the target marketA genuine commitment to education and an understanding of parents’ feelings and concerns when they are considering a school for their childProficient use of IT (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Word and Excel in particular) and the ability to learn to use new softwareThe ability to work independently and in close co-operation with others in a teamThe ability to work within tight deadlinesVersatile, dynamic, and flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitudeResilient and able to cope with the rigours of a busy departmentThe ability to stay calm under pressureThe discretion, sensitivity and diplomacy to deal appropriately with confidential information regarding children and familiesA working knowledge of GDPR and its implementation in marketing and development activitiesTo apply for the role of Marketing & Development Assistant, please send a covering letter together with a copy of your CV in MS Word.Admissions Advisor £28,000 - £32,000Location: Working From HomeJob Type: Permanent As the Admissions Advisor, you will oversee the administration of new and existing student applications, through the CRM system and other communication channels.
