JOB OVERVIEW
The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist is responsible for devising exactly how something is going to be made, what machines are going to make it and how it can be made efficiently and safely as possible. We are looking to add someone to our team who is a lateral thinker, able to navigate complexity and embrace ambiguity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBe the primary contact point for Engineering, Operations and Quality for product and manufacturing support, championing continuous improvement efforts and troubleshooting design/manufacturing issuesWork closely with Production and Quality personnel to continually receive product feedback, improve cross-department processes, procedures, and communicationDevelop, document, and communicate engineering standards that leverage in-house capabilitiesBalance a workload of multiple projects while maintaining deadline, quality, and budget commitmentsProvide technical support to project managers, engineers, and shop personnel on an ongoing basisDevelop extensive knowledge of product lines, preferred practices, and all applicable industry standardsReview drawing packages and designs to ensure best practices that promote DFM and lean manufacturingIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standard of qualityParticipate in design reviews and project close-out meetings as requiredLead ECR/ECN procedures by coordinating and recording changes, reporting trends and recommending improvements to designs and proceduresEnsure all in process modifications or revisions to equipment during manufacture are captured, documented, and communicated to the engineering departmentProvide training and guidance to internal team members to ensure best practices are communicated, understood implemented on future projectsAll other duties as assignedRequirementsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSPost-secondary education in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalentMust have 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environmentProficient in reading, understanding, and creating engineering prints for machining, welding and assemblyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS OfficeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of sanitary design requirements an assetProject management and PFMEA experience an assetLEAN training an asset
