Manufacturing Designer | Fixture Designer | Industrial Engineering - Brantford ON

As a Fixture Designer | Manufacturing Designer, you will be responsible for the design

of

tooling and fixtures to facilitate fabrication/machining/assembly of production parts as

per engineering drawings. The role requires close communication with various members

of the Tigercat team (product designers/engineers, planners/value stream leaders,

welders, machinist, assemblers, supervisors, etc.) on a daily and on-going basis in order

to ensure

your fixture designs meet the needs of the workers, design intent of the engineers, and

produces Tigercat products that meet quality standards in the safest and most efficient manner. Day shift: 5 x

8 hour

shifts; Monday to Friday Location: 54 Morton Ave. E, Brantford, ON Responsibilities may include: Design and create drawings for fixtures, tooling, and material handling devices using Solidworks Perform calculations necessary for the design of fixturing Maintain drawing files and distribute files to appropriate personnel Conduct detailed design review meetings with a cross-functional team Communicate with various personnel in order to establish optimal sequence of operations to fabricate/machine/assemble parts or products to promote safe and efficient utilization of fixtures Solicit and analyze feedback and evaluate results to identify opportunities for improvement in current/future fixture designs Recommend purchased parts/equipment as needed to meet design requirements Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities Skills and Experience: Proficient in Solidworks (with FEA / Simulation knowledge an asset), AutoCAD and MS Office Proven experience in the design and development of tooling / fixtures Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or related field, P. Eng. an asset Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Comprehensive understanding of drawings, schematics and specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerances Ability to make sound decisions Good problem-solving skills Effective organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) Positive attitude with the ability to work in a professional manner, especially when dealing with customers or co-workers Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events Travel to multiple locations as needed (valid license required) What We Can Offer You: Family-Oriented Company:
