Hiring Manager: Connie Salinitri Preferred Location: 700 University, Toronto Additional Location: 2020 Robert-Bourassa, Montreal This role will give you a chance to: Be accountable for leading and managing a portfolio of programs & projects in Financial Systems. Leverage contextual, subject matter and domain specific knowledge and best practices. Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively making everyone understand key objectives, see the larger picture, and feel involved. Evolve the existing landscape leveraging forward thinking methodologies & innovative ways. Contribute to a great work environment by providing exemplary leadership. Mentor your team to become future leaders. Participate in the development of Financial Systems' long-term plan and vision in collaboration with the enterprise architecture team. Find Innovative Solutions meeting Business Needs. Bring in Enterprise thinking. Drive Simplification & Reduce Technical Debt. Lead activities related to priority setting and resource planning, ensuring that project work, targets and objectives align with the long-term vision. Collaborate with internal stakeholders in leading the development, testing, and implementation activities required for various projects. Negotiate and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders (consulting firms and solution/service providers). Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects & programs with diverse technology. Build high performing teams and ensure effective employee engagement. Build strong inter-personal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders. The requirements: B.S. degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience. At least 10 years of experience in software development with deep experience on financial systems and at least 3 years of experience managing software development teams. Deep understanding of software engineering principles and process along with the ability to apply this knowledge to execute projects and optimize strategies and lead successful transformations. Demonstrate understanding of information technology practices and Program/Project management within the Financial Industry. Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, and attention to detail. Experience in an IFRS 17 program would be preferable. For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country. Preference will be for candidates with extensive financial systems & insurance experience.
