As the Solutions Manager for the IS Claims Applications, you will be accountable for managing an application development team in the inception, build and implementation within Discipline Agile Framework and in the operational support of technology solutions to ensure alignment with ICBC claims business strategies and Provincial Government direction. We will draw on your experiences in managing the development of technology solutions to implementation, and your ability work efficiently with an discipline agile team contains Business Analysts, Developers and Testers. Your key focus and deliverables: Providing technical leadership, management and direction for the Claims applications team, and ensure technology solutions align with architecture and infrastructure standards and guidelines; Assign and monitor progress of work performed by Solutions Team across various development platforms, including but not limited to in-house systems, integration with third party technology systems, and web applications; Lead applications team through hands-on approach on development in different platforms, and deploy cost-effective complex technology solutions to meet business needs; Pragmatic visionary who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions that scale both technologically and operationally, managing the organization through change, evolution, and sustained growth guiding the convergence of existing systems with emergence of new modernized technology; Consult, communicate, and collaborate with various teams, (IT, business & 3rd party vendors) to ensure seamless integration of new solutions with timely and quality deliverables, meeting or exceed performance levels for stable operations; # Establishing partnerships with varying levels of resources is key (executives, management, projects, various internal business & IT stakeholders, and external vendors); Ensure development environments are managed to meet needs of various streams and multiple projects and developers; comply with security and privacy policies; Building, managing and working with agile delivery teams to optimize our investment in quality and deliver value to the business partners; Supports program and portfolio planning. Position Requirements: To make an immediate contribution in this critical IS Claims Applications Manager role, you will have demonstrated experience: Working on large projects with knowledge and understanding of enterprise technologies such as Enterprise Service Business (ESB),Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Enterprise Identity and Access Management (EIAM), and Enterprise Portal Solutions; Working with application development and security frameworks for software and databases, and with familiarity of Application Servers (i.e. WebSphere, Weblogic, etc.) and Directory Services (Active Directory, SUN/UNIX LDAP, SAP, etc.); Managing the day to day operations of a team on production outage, incidents management, and release change management; Leading technical teams, communicating objectives to the Claims Applications team, providing creative solutions, effectively managing geographically dispersed teams, and ensuring progress tracks development objectives; Working within a complex environment and understanding the implications of regulatory requirements for security and audit as it pertains to Claims technology solutions will be an asset; Experience and knowledge of technology-based tools or methodologies including ITIL and SDLC implementation methodologies, to review, design, and/or implement products and services; Building strong working relationship and influence decisions with product vendors, consulting partners, clients and stakeholders. Your experience is supported by a technical or business degree; an industry recognized certification (CISSP, PMP, MCSE, etc.) would be an asset. This position may require you to quality for security clearance from CSIS.
