Purpose of the position
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Software Development Manager to lead our Android application development team. You will be responsible for managing a diverse team of in-office and remote developers, driving the successful delivery of high-quality Android applications, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. This role requires a strong technical background in Android development, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage a distributed team across multiple time zones.The application being developed will run on SMART Board interactive flat-panel displays in classrooms and offices around the world.

Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
·Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team.
·Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
·Set clear goals and expectations for team members and regularly assess performance against objectives.
Project Management:
·Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Android application development projects utilizing Agile software development methodologies.
·Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
·Define and track project milestones, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
·Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA) to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
Technical Expertise:
·Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, technologies, and best practices.
·Review code, provide technical feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
·Participate in architectural design discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
Talent Acquisition and Development:
·Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent to the team.
·Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
·Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
·Minimum 2 years of experience in managing a software development team in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
·Minimum 4 years of software development experience with Android applications.
·Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
·Thorough understanding of Android software development principles, tools, and best practices.
·Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
·Ability to work with a global team.
Supervision
·This position will supervise approximately six software engineers.
Working conditions
