Job Summary

Woodbine Entertainment Group is looking for a highly creative and ambitious social media and content leader that is proactive, results-driven and has a work ethic to match.

Is that you? If so, as Woodbine Entertainment’s Manager of Social Media and Content, you will promote the sport of horse racing, betting and our many entertainment offerings, grow our digital footprint and bring critical thinking to our day-to-day social media output.

Key Responsibilities

Drive corporate business objectives through social media and compelling content Build the Woodbine Entertainment Group brand through community management, reputation management and creative content production and distribution Institute regular data reporting and advise senior management on latest trends and opportunities Grow audiences across existing platforms and develop new or evolving digital platforms (as required) Collaborate with Broadcast, Marketing and Partnerships departments on strategic projects and fulfill deliverables Work alongside Director, Content & Social Media to conceptualize and create original, social-first content Work alongside Sr. Manager, Betting Content to build a robust betting content cadence on owned and operated channels. Lead the social media output for a team that generates live coverage of all Woodbine programming and events, both on and off-track including racing, food and beverage, community citizenship, and social event initiatives Collaborate with other business functions to create innovative and highly-integrated social programming, content or initiatives to further company-wide promotions at on and off-track events and deliver successful partnership experiences Continuously improve Woodbine’s social operation by capturing and analyzing appropriate data, metrics, insights and best practices

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge

Deep knowledge of content marketing, community management, and social media platforms as tools to drive revenue and build brand Strong understanding of comprehensive social media channels, management tools and strategies (content and execution) Excellent understanding of writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication best practices Strong understanding of social media metrics and analytics software Superior understanding of the relationship between social media and revenue generation with experience executing branded content Ability to self-motivate and work independently to identify and complete work goals Knowledge of horse racing and wagering is a significant asset but not a necessity

Creative, out of the box thinker Leadership skills to effectively partner with internal stakeholders and members of the marketing and communications department Thrives in a collaborative environment Base-level understanding and experience with photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop Excellent organizational skills necessary to manage varying demands and time constraints Strong planning and decision-making skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail Outstanding interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with on-site guests and online audiences Proven ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams

Education And Experience

Minimum five (5) years social media management experience OR digital marketing expertise University or College degree/diploma in a field related to Marketing/Communications/Public Relations/Journalism or the equivalent in education and experience Experience with design and visual content creation
