Your primary responsibilities include identifying opportunitiesto streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency, as well as evaluating and implementing newtechnologies or software solutions to enhance accounting processes. Additionally, you will establishstandardized accounting processes and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance across theorganization and collaborate with other departments to optimize cross-functional processes. You will alsoestablish key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of accounting processes and trackprogress towards improvement goals. Providing training and support to accounting staff members toensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to changes and effectively utilize newprocesses or technologies is essential. As a leader, you will provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching toteam members to support their professional growth and development. Fostering open and transparentcommunication with the team regarding changes in processes, systems, and/or organization objectives iscrucial, along with providing regular updates, soliciting feedback, and addressing concerns to ensureteam members feel informed and engaged.Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:CPA designationA solid understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practicesStrong team leadership skills, preferably with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerialroleStrong change management skills with proficiency in process improvement methodologiesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong problem-solving skillsStrong technical skills, including proficiency in ExcelKnowledge of operational finance and banking is an assetKnowledge of group insurance is an assetJohnston Group provides employee benefit solutions to over 30,000 companies, ranging from one employee tothousands across various product lines, including Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan, Canada’s largestbusiness program.
