Reporting to the Director Finance, the Manager Finance is primarily responsible running the legal entity consolidation process, review and preparation of financial statements, support year end audits and ensure that management is provided with information to make sound business decisions.

This is a 1-year contract position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive month close process across the group entities and manage consolidation process of all legal entities.
  • Manage and deal with intercompany transactions as part of consolidation.
  • Responsible for foreign currency translation of financial statements.
  • Responsible to close the month and present accurate consolidated financial results for the group on a timely manner
  • Preparation and analysis of financial statements
  • Preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Drive efficiencies across processes to reduce month close timeline
  • Manages annual and interim financial statement audit, acting as key point of contact for external auditors. Responsible for providing auditors with all required working papers, disclosures and analysis.
  • Review and implement consistent standard accounting policies across all the entities in the group.
  • Create accounting memos for key accounting policies that can be easily understood by business and can support audit.
  • Ensure accounting policies are current with GAAP. Working closely with the respective business partners and controller, implement any change in accounting policies driven by changes in GAAP
  • Act as a key member for ERP financial software system as part of transition to one system across the group.
  • Support ad hoc requests from management.
  • Development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives on financial reporting.
  • Support ERP implementation
  • Support legal amalgamation

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance along with relevant work experience. CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance with consolidation experience involving multi currency reporting.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of month close and audit experience in a manufacturing or complex business environment is required.
  • Very strong accounting background as well a continuous improvement orientation.
  • Ability to work with multiple ERPs.
  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Hands-on, detail oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the aerospace industry is considered an asset.

Skills

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and confidently deliver messages using simple language or to simplify complex messages.
  • Ability to work independently and assess the importance of tasks and decisions and set priorities, focusing time/energy on the most important issues/opportunities.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders. To work with minimal supervision and guidance in a team-oriented work environment is mandatory.
  • Solution and detail- oriented, customer service focus, and positive “can do” team attitude to consistently meet deadlines.
