Manager, Communications & Business Planning - Canadian Business BankingPurpose As a member of the Canadian Business Banking Sales Effectiveness team, the Manager, Business Planning & Communications, contributes to the overall success of Canadian Business Banking (CBB) in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Planning & Communications, the Manager, Business Planning & Communications supports internal communications including creation, delivery and evolution of Canadian Business Banking communication channels and processes, content creation, plus Communications planning, development, delivery and reporting. This role works closely with the Senior Manager, Business Planning & Communications, internal partners and stakeholders to innovate ways to communicate business initiatives, to maximize employee engagement, write and deliver high-impact content, and to align communications to the field and share best practices. Accountabilities: Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Contributes to the creative development of high impact and engaging content for internal and external audiences by: • Assist in the development and execution of internal communication strategies and tactics, including positioning and key message development and coordination with other communication partners to advance strategic priorities and drive stakeholder engagement.• Plan and provide tactical communications support for internal initiatives and events.• Manage project communications through internal communications channels• develop and contribute to innovative internal communication approaches and tactics that engage CBB employees through various communications channels• developing excellent relationships with CBB business lines, Canadian Banking Communications and other key partners and corporate functions to ensure alignment of key messages.• Advise and collaborate on communication approaches for internal Commercial Banking communications and partner communications, ensuring the most effective approaches are used to maximum employee consumption of information.• Apply digital communication, design and creative know-how to advise and collaborate with peers, partners on tactical application of Communications. Support and manage the Sales Effectiveness Intake Portal and Pipeline Calendar by: • Advise and ensure a planful approach to communications impacting the field.• Manage the Sales Effectiveness Intake Portal and processto ensure an optimum approach and timeliness of communications is provided• Recommends and implements tactics to increase readership and adoption of CBB on SharePoint Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Skills & Experiences:• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills• Ability to balance multiple priorities and work well independently• Strong organizational, event and project management skills, with a great attention to detail• Proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with colleagues across a range of functions• An ability to solve problems and navigate complex environments• A high degree of flexibility and willingness to take on tasks outside of core responsibilities• Good understanding of user experience and a passion for creating intuitive, user-friendly digital experiences.• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for design and creative detail.• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.• A commitment to curiosity, and professional and personal growth• Skilled in the use of various technology tools, including Microsoft Suite (SharePoint, PPT, MS Word, Excel, Teams), and Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, etc. Dimensions: • The position is project oriented, and the project scope will be diverse and complex.• The position supports Canadian Business Banking and the incumbent works within cross-functional Executive Office and business line project/implementation teams using influence/negotiations rather than direct authority to ensure project progress.• The incumbent negotiates priorities with the Senior Manager but is expected to independently manage his/her own time in relation to meeting goals. Education / Experience / Other Information• Minimum undergraduate degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Marketing Communications or a related discipline • 5+ years of experience working in a Business Communications role• Excellent oral and written English communication skills (French is an asset).• Excellent communication and teamwork skills• Understanding of Global HR businesses, operations and processes• Change management and/or project management experience would be an asset• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, dealing with time sensitive and confidential information• Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity• Ability balance conflicting priorities• Operates independently day-to-day; high level of autonomy required in assessing day-to-day issues in context of stakeholder interests• Exercises authority to address day-to-day operational requirements and to move projects forward• Strong organizational skills, analytical mindset and results orientation• Applies creativity and innovation in looking for ways to improve efficiency, support Canadian Business Banking more effectively and reduce costs Working Conditions • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.• Normal sensory attention is required• In order to provide a high level of service, prompt and timely responses to Canadian Business Banking leadership and key stakeholders is required.
