Manager, Campaign and Major Gifts – ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTH CENTRE FOUNDATION

St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph is seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic leader, who is passionate about healthcare philanthropy, to join our team as the new Manager, Campaign and Major Gifts.

Reporting to the VP, Development, this unique and newly created position will work collaboratively with the CEO and VP, Development to provide leadership and support to the entire foundation team to achieve the revenue targets of a historic and comprehensive multi-million dollar fundraising campaign for St. Joseph’s Health Centre.

As an experienced, strategic relationship builder and connector, the Manager will confidently manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors. They will develop inspiring, individualized major gift proposals designed to align philanthropic goals with Campaign projects. The successful candidate will be welcomed by our high-performing team of five and will be a proactive team player who enthusiastically takes the initiative in an environment where everyone is committed to being flexible and shifting priorities and deliverables as needed. Salary Range: $75,000 – $87,500

St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph raises and stewards funds vital to fulfilling St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s mission to provide exemplary complex hospital care, rehabilitation services, long term care, specialized programming and community outreach services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work strategically with the CEO and VP, Development to implement, manage, and evaluate strategies and plans across various channels in support of a comprehensive, multi-million dollar campaign
  • Identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward a personal portfolio of 100-125 donors and prospects, with the goal of securing gifts in the $50,000 – $500,000+ range
  • Strategically promote Gift and Estate Planning opportunities to major donor prospects who have the capacity to make a planned gift or a blended gift
  • Collaborate with the foundation development team to develop a strategy and execution plan for prospect lists and gift chart development
  • Collaborate with the foundation’s Communications Associate to ensure consistent messaging and to optimize the use of multi-media vehicles to promote campaign and funding priorities
  • Work with foundation team members to develop campaign reporting, monitoring, and tracking against campaign goals and other key performance indicators
  • Support other elements of fundraising whenever needed including the foundation’s signature event, Taste of Guelph, as well as all annual programs

Knowledge and Skills

  • Progressive fundraising success with a specific focus on soliciting major gifts of $50,000 and above
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with a keen ability to understand the needs and interests of individual donors, corporations and other funding bodies in order to develop mutually beneficial relationships
  • Adept in campaign strategies and pipeline management
  • Experience in making introductions and personally engaging prospects as part of an overall major gift strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior volunteers, health centre staff, physicians, and other key stakeholders
  • Resilience with the ability to solve problems, thrive under pressure and effectively manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, specifically as it relates to creating and communicating urgent, inspiring and personalized cases for support
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, a personal reputation for integrity and the highest ethical standards
  • Must be able to attend a significant amount of meetings outside of the office and work occasionally outside of traditional office hours
  • University degree or comparable professional training and experience

Other Key Assets Include:

  • Experience in capital campaigns
  • Knowledge of and connection to the Guelph community
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Raiser’s Edge

What we offer:

This is a full-time, permanent position based on 37.5 hours per week. The target salary range is $75,000 – $87,500 and includes a generous benefits package and one of the best defined pension plans in Ontario (HOOPP).
