Responsible for directly managing a team of technically skilled staff providing dynamic hands-on leadership and skilled problem solving who can continually develop the capabilities of their team while working with vendors and key internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to day-to-day projects and LTP expectations through the leading and execution of maintenance projects, such as through troubleshooting, executing PM, corrective maintenance and assisting the Maintenance team
- Provide cross-functional support to departments who are faced with technical issues and require assistance, while also providing training on resolving these issues related to safety, quality, and productivity loses
- Lead troubleshooting tasks and operation downtimes to effectively resolve issues; elevating it to the next level of management if assist is needed
- Support Maintenance Planner/MRO Buyer on maintaining the Inventory of stock item, and acting as the Planner if needed
- Lead, coach, and develop the Maintenance team, including providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations, to ensure employees have the right resource skills, competencies, and expertise to meet departments and agreed-upon objectives of the company
- Initiate corrective action to the team based KPIs, downtime and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports; to increase uptime and efficiency and reduce downtime and waste (labor, time, material, process, part), ensuring the team is aligned with the LTP projects
- Completion of administrative duties within the department such as approving employee over-time, leading Dayforce updates, and ensuring vacation schedules are distributed and approved in a timely manner
- Lead shift hand over meetings on a daily basis, providing project updates, assigning jobs, and communicate counter measures when applicable
- Support Maintenance Cost Containment objectives by tracking labour OT
- Conduct workplace inspection at the assigned company location regarding safety, GMP violations, production line and equipment issues
- Work with the Maintenance Planner to ensure an effective PM system is in place to maintain equipment compliance to H&S guidelines and regulations, SQF, HACCP, GMP and quality requirements
- Ensure the company’s current policies, procedures, H&S programs and corporate security guidelines are applied effectively in 2 ways communication

Qualifications
- Completion of college diploma in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor
- Minimum 1 year experience within the Food Manufacturing industry
- Holding a valid Ontario Millwright or Electrical License
- Excellent problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills
- Advanced working knowledge on mechanical/electrical systems and components; including, but not limited to, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Power Transmission, Material Handling, Sensor, Transmitters, DC and AC circuits, Transformers, Power and Energy, Arc Flash
- Working knowledge and experience on Automation; Industrial Process and Control system; PLC; Measuring Devices; Instrumentation; Robotic Application; Bulk Handling System
- Working knowledge and experience on Facility Maintenance (Roof, Dock, plumbing) and Plant Equipment (Boiler, Air Compressors, Ammonia/Freon/Glycol Refrigeration, HVAC, Ventilation, Cooling Tower, Condenser, Back flow preventer, Sprinkler and Fire Extinguisher, Wastewater System, …)
- Planning, scheduling & assigning ability while well experienced in defining priorities, required skills & resources
- Computer Savvy, hold practical knowledge on CMMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point)
- Multitasked in a fast-paced environment with lots of change in direction bases business requirement
- Being an example for others; being a Safety-Oriented Supervisor with a positive “can do attitude”.
