Company BackgroundEstablished over 30 years ago, Donald’s Fine Foods is a family-owned business specializing in meat products with offices in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.Brief Job DescriptionReporting to the Plant Manager the Maintenance Manager (MM) will ensure that the overall health of the plant stays healthy, on budget, and compliant to regulatory standards through the excellent management of the maintenance staff, preventative maintenance programs, parts and supplies inventories, and the completion of maintenance tasks on a timely basis and on target.ResponsibilitiesManagement of staff, coaching, and trainingManage an effective maintenance workforce through the proper hiring and development of staff.Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.Communication and Collaboration with other departmentsRegular communication with the QA Department to ensure effective participation by the maintenance department in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.Regular communication with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the plantParticipate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.Plant Preventative Maintenance ProgramEstablishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for inventory equipment, tracking work orders, and maintenance history of plant equipmentContinuously monitors the operation of plant equipment and systems.Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systemsPurchasing, Inventory Management, and BudgetingUtilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) manage parts inventory, spending, work ordersTracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.Initiates and carries out projects that improves efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.Regulatory Standards, Safety, and ComplianceEnsures occupational health/safety, environmental policies and procedures are followed by the staff.Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department.RequirementsHolds a Electrical or Millwright ticket.+5 or more year of experience in a Maintenance role+5 of supervisory experience.Food or Meat Processing Industry experience appreciated.Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering appreciated.Great interpersonal skills and a great leader.Organized and ability to adhere to deadlinesExcellent Microsoft office skills (In particular: Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent communication skills – written / spoken
