The Position:
You will have a critical role in our M&A and strategy at the corporate level under the direction of the CIO (Chief Investment Officer). The position objectives are to help drive increased capital deployment and create an efficient and effective M&A process.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading internal consulting projects and driving corporate initiatives
Developing financial models to support the viability of initiatives and investments
Conducting analysis on critical strategic questions and providing M&A groups with actionable insights
Performing diligence on specific investment/acquisition opportunities
Preparing business summaries, investment memos, model analysis charts, and commentaries to assist with trade-offs and decision making
Tracking key M&A goals and KPIs for reporting purposes
You will have an opportunity to add value throughout the entire M&A cycle, working with a driven, high-energy team and senior leadership.
Experience Qualifications:
At least 3-6 years years experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or a similar analytical role
Experience in M&A considered an asset
Business or Finance degree (HBA, BBA, BComm, etc.)
Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/CFA/CBV), considered an asset
Industry related experience (software, PE, VC, etc.), considered an asset
Skill Qualifications:
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced skills and experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint
Proficiency in financial modelling
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
Ability to translate high level objectives into actionable work plans and strategies
Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Proven business acumen in analyzing businesses to identify and prioritize key areas of improvement
Conduct interactions with a high level of integrity and trust
An excellent command of spoken and written English
